The problem

Dental pricing in Australia is a black box.

Quotes arrive as item codes and jargon, prices swing between clinics, and it can feel awkward to question the number. That’s the gap Dental Magazine closes — for free.

How it works

Our data & method

Where our numbers come from.

Trust shouldn’t be asked for — it should be shown. No invented reviews here: every card on this wall is a real source or a promise you can check.

Published clinic price lists50+ Australian dental sites

Public price lists and fee guides from clinics across the country — the source is kept on record for every benchmark item.

Health fund fee dataPublished average fees

Average-fee figures published by Australian health funds reflect what patients are actually charged — not just advertised prices.

ADA Fees Survey citationsIndustry fee data

The dental industry's own fee survey, as cited in published Australian fee guides, anchors our benchmark ranges.

Community mediansFrom real checks

Once enough patients have checked the same treatment, we show the real median quoted price alongside the benchmark range.

AI analysis, openly disclosedHow scorecards are made

Your quote is read by Claude, a leading AI model from Anthropic, line-by-line against 110+ benchmark ranges — and every scorecard states its own confidence level and limits.

Scores no clinic can buyOur promise

No clinic can pay to change a score. Providers fund the free service through referral fees — and that never changes what your scorecard says.

Privacy & trust

Your quote is nobody’s business but yours.

Dental Magazine exists to level the information playing field for patients — not to harvest data.

Stored privately in Australia

Your documents are kept in Australian data centres, visible only to you, and used solely to run your comparison.

Shared only to help you save

We never sell your data to advertisers. If we think a dental provider may offer you better value, we may share your details with them so they can offer you a quote — that's how the free service is funded, and it's spelled out in our Privacy Policy.

Delete anytime

Remove a document — or your entire account — whenever you like. Gone means gone.

Pricing only, never clinical

We analyse the price on your quote. We never second-guess your dentist's clinical judgement.

FAQ

Honest answers to fair questions.

Is it really free?

Yes. Dental Magazine is completely free for Australian patients — no card, no trial that quietly becomes a subscription, no catch. Create an account with just your email and check as many quotes as you like.

Is this dental or medical advice?

No. Dental Magazine provides general pricing information only. It is not dental, medical or financial advice, and it is not a substitute for advice from a registered dental practitioner. Always talk to your dentist before making treatment decisions. We look at the numbers on your quote — never at whether the treatment itself is right for you.

What if I don't have my treatment plan?

No problem. Instead of uploading documents, you can answer a few friendly questions about the treatment you’ve been offered and the price you were quoted. A written, itemised quote gives the most accurate comparison, but it isn’t required.

Where does the benchmark data come from?

From published Australian pricing data. Our 110+ benchmark ranges are compiled from public price lists and fee guides across more than 50 Australian dental sites, published health-fund average-fee data, and ADA Fees Survey figures as cited in those guides — compiled July 2026 and refreshed regularly, with the source kept on record for every item. As more patients check quotes, we also show the real community median for a treatment once enough checks exist. Benchmarks are indicative ranges, not quotes — actual prices vary by clinic, city and the complexity of your case.

How do you make money?

Dental Magazine is free for patients because dental providers pay us a referral fee when we connect them with a patient. If your check suggests you’ve been quoted above typical pricing and we believe another provider may offer you better value, we may share your details with that provider — or contact you ourselves — so you can get a comparison quote. Two things never change: no clinic can pay to influence a score, and your scorecard always reflects the benchmarks, not who pays us.

Is the analysis done by AI?

Yes, and we’re upfront about it: your documents are read by Claude, a leading AI model from Anthropic, and compared against our Australian benchmark table. Every scorecard states its own confidence level, shows its reasoning item by item, and tells you when the evidence is thin. You can see exactly what you’ll get on the sample scorecard before signing up.

Can my dentist see this?

No. Your comparison is private to your account. We never contact your dentist, and nothing you do here appears anywhere they could see it. What you do with your scorecard is entirely up to you.

What files can I upload?

Photos, screenshots and PDFs. Snap your printed treatment plan with your phone, screenshot an emailed quote, or upload the PDF directly — whatever you have works.
