The short version
- We collect your email address, the documents you upload, and any other information you send us.
- Everything is stored with Supabase in Australia (Sydney region).
- We never sell your data to advertisers or data brokers. If we believe a dental provider may offer you better value, we may share your contact details with that providerso they can offer you a quote — that referral model is how the free service is funded, and it’s explained in full below.
- You can delete your documents or your whole account at any time.
What we collect
Here’s what we collect:
- Your email address, used to create your account and send you sign-in codes.
- The documents you upload — treatment plans, quotes, photos and screenshots.
- Your answers, if you choose to describe your quote by answering questions instead of uploading documents.
- The analysis we generate for you — your scorecard and benchmark comparison.
- Any other information you send us — for example the clinic name on your quote, details you add about your treatment, or anything you include when you contact us.
We don’t ask for Medicare details or payment information — the service is free for patients, so there’s nothing to bill.
Where your data lives
Your account data and uploaded documents are stored with Supabase in the Sydney, Australia region. Documents sit in private storage tied to your account — they aren’t public, and other users can’t see them.
How we use your data
We use your data to run your price comparison and show you the results, and — where we believe it can genuinely save you money — to connect you with an alternative dental provider, as described in the next section. Your email address is used for sign-in codes and messages about your account. Contact about better-value options, which you agreed to at sign-up, may be by email or by phone.
Referrals — how the free service is funded
Dental Magazine is free for patients because dental providers pay us a referral fee when we connect them with a patient. When you create an account you agree that:
- If we believe a dental provider (for example, a dental implant provider) may offer you better value than the quote you checked, we may contact you — including by phone call — using your email address, or a phone number you have given us or that appears in the information you sent us.
- We may share your contact details and relevant details of your treatment enquiry with that provider so they can offer you a comparison quote.
- Referral fees never change your scorecard — scores are driven by the benchmarks, and no clinic can pay to alter one.
You can withdraw this consent at any time by deleting your account from the dashboard, or by contacting us.
What we never do
- We never sell your data to advertisers or data brokers.
- We never contact the clinic that gave you the quote you checked — your comparison stays between you and Dental Magazine, unless you choose otherwise.
- We never let any clinic pay to change a score.
Deleting your data
You’re in control. You can delete individual documents from your account at any time, and you can request deletion of your entire account from within the app. When your account is deleted, your documents and analyses go with it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. We’ll always keep it in plain English.
